End of year update!

Good morning backers-

We hope you have all had a great holiday season and wanted to provide an update of our progress heading into the new year!

Our engineering team has received parts to build the prototype incorporating design improvements and have started to assemble and test. We are very excited to finish the build and continue testing in order to move into initial tooling and manufacturing phases. We have included a few pictures of this phase below:

Overall, we are very pleased with how the updated elements are coming together. The updated interface has drastically improved the expected user experience. The silicone color is off in the initial run but we will work to dial in the black color desired. 

The collapsing silicone body is working exactly as intended and we are very pleased with how the updated lid and locking mechanisms have turned out. 

The custom printed circuit boards are also being assembled. 

In addition to working on design updates for this build, we have been working on creating the visuals of the interface in different stages and will share a visual of this in our next update. We have also been working on the design of the carrying case that will be included with the kettle and will continue to provide updates on its progress as well. 

If any of our wonderful backers will be attending the Specialty Coffee Expo in Portland let us know, we will be checking out the show on April 25th and 26th and will have our prototype in hand for anyone interested in checking it out!

Voyager Kettle Update!

Good afternoon backers! 

I hope all is well and we wanted to say thank you again for all of the support we have received!

We wanted to provide an update to share the progress we have made since Kickstarter completed. We have been working hard to incorporate lessons learned from the last prototype and all of the great feedback we have received.

We have made many improvements to the visual and functional design of the kettle, take a look at the images below to see the updated design. A couple of high level notes on improvements:

-Created a more streamlined silicone body

-Improved the user interface in order to simplify the use and make the display easier to read

-Slightly decreased collapsed dimensions for width and length while maintaining 2" height

-Created stiff lid handle to allow for leverage when removing lid (previously silicone)

-Lid locks directly into silicone body instead of metal ring to improve locking function and making it easier to remove

Next steps for Voyager Kettle!

Good afternoon everyone- 

I wanted to follow-up now that our campaign has ended and all funds have been transferred to say thank you for all of your support.

Within the next couple of days, you will receive an email from Backerkit to collect all necessary information including shipping address and the Voyager Kettle color of choice (Green, Black). 

In the meantime, our team will continue to work on next steps in bringing the Voyager Kettle to market. We will continue to keep everyone up to date as we progress towards fulfilling your pledge!
